How To Make Keto Coffee Taste Good
If you are new to the Keto lifestyle, you likely have heard something about Bulletproof Coffee, but you may not yet know how to make keto coffee taste good. It’s quite possible that the first time you tried it you weren’t a fan.
Don’t despair, I have a wonderful source that has tested out different versions of the Bulletproof Coffee recipes, it’s my sister!
Please note that we use bulletproof coffee and keto coffee interchangeably in this article.
She recently started drinking bulletproof coffee at home as part of her Keto lifestyle.
It’s been about 6 or more months and she’s noticing a lot of changes in her body, her digestion is better, and she feels fuller longer. She doesn’t get “HANGRY” anymore, and she’s dropping weight fairly quickly.
We were talking one day about my coffee blog and she mentioned her homemade bulletproof coffee experiments and how much she loves trying new variations. She says it’s so decadent and delicious she feels so fancy, like a princess!
I go to the gym with her in the morning and she always comes in carrying her Bulletproof coffee in her travel mug. Sometimes it smells like vanilla, sometimes like peanut butter, and most recently, like chocolate peanut butter!
She doesn’t eat before the gym and just has keto coffee instead every morning. She says it fills her up and keeps her from being hungry until lunch.
Now I’m no keto expert but she adores this decadent bulletproof coffee and it makes her feel really good. She brought some into the gym one day for me to try and, I have to admit, it was pretty good, though a bit oily, but she says you get used to it, and once you do, you will love it and crave it.
If you are looking to increase the fats in your diet, stay fuller longer, or want to try the Keto Diet, check out this recipe so you can make keto coffee at home.
Some Tips for Making Bulletproof Coffee at Home
Always use a blender to make it frothy and delicious. Alternatively, you can use a little battery operated milk frother. It won’t take up as much room on the counter.
You can customize your keto coffee for your day and your schedule based on how many calories you want, how filling you want it to be and whether or not you want it to act like your meal in the morning.
If you chose a keto coffee for breakfast, obviously you would want it to be more calories, if you plan on also having breakfast you can make it lighter.
She said she gets most of her ingredients from Switchgrocery. It’s a small business based in Toronto, Ontario. The owner writes little personalized notes and comments on your bill when she sends it. They pack their boxes tight and ship as much as possible in one box to cut down on waste.
My Sister’s Recipe for Making Bulletproof Coffee At Home
Every one of these recipes includes coffee, 35% whipping cream and 1 scoop of collagen protein powder. If you are vegan or dairy free, you can adjust accordingly, using almond milk or your preferred non-dairy creamer.
Optional:
Add a drop of vanilla extract or some cinnamon, nutmeg, or peppermint extract.
Standard Bulletproof Coffee Recipe
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1 tbsp Unsalted butter
Variation #1
- 1 tbsp Lee’s Good Fat Blend Vanilla Bean. Its organic ghee and virgin coconut oil blend.
Variation #2
- 1 tbsp Peanut butter
Variation #3
Each of the following has 1 tablespoon:
- Lee’s vanilla bean
- Butter
- Peanut butter or chocolate peanut butter
Once blended, this one was REALLY thick and frothy.
A note from my sister: I don’t put any sweetener in my bulletproof coffees, ever. If I did, I would use Swerve erythritol sweetener. You can get that at the grocery store, make sure it’s granular.

This recipe looks so easy. I often wondered what people were talking about when they mentioned keto-coffee. I assumed it was a fancy brand for increased revenue :-). Thanks for clearing that up. I may give it a try when I decide to give keto a try.
