When I stumbled upon this peppermint mocha coffee recipe I just about jumped out of my skin. Peppermint chocolate is my absolute, number 1, all-time favorite flavor.
Peppermint chocolate randomly became my favorite flavor about 6 years ago and I can’t get enough ever since. Whether it’s the sticks, or the patties, or just a chocolate bar, I don’t discriminate.
So when I found this peppermint patty mocha coffee recipe, I lost it, I was so excited. It did NOT disappoint!
This is my new go-to fancy coffee drink. I may as well stop the blog right now. I found it. I can stop looking.
No, don’t worry. I won’t stop.

Here’s what you need:
- 8 ounces coffee
- 2 tbsp. hot chocolate mix
- ½ tsp peppermint extract
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 ounces milk
Optional: Whipped cream or mini marshmallows with candy cane.
Read the tips below for substitutions.
Putting Your Peppermint Patty Coffee Together
- Place all of the dry ingredients into a mug.
- Slowly pour coffee in and stir until the cocoa mix and sugar are dissolved completely.
- Add in your peppermint extract and the milk, and stir until all ingredients are well blended.
- Optional: Add a dollop of whipped cream, sprinkle with some crushed candy cane or throw some mini marshmallows on top.
Tips on Making it Super Delicious and Customizing for Taste
I’m not a big fan of really sweet drinks. So I left out the sugar completely. I also added a splash of half and half cream. I modified this recipe by reducing the hot chocolate mix to 1 teaspoon and did two drops of extract.
Make it your own and modify how you see fit.
If you want this peppermint coffee recipe to be as delicious as possible, you will want to grind your own beans and use a french press.
I love how coffee tastes when it’s made with freshly ground organic beans made in a french press. There is no coffee that tastes better. One of my favorite beans is Ethical Bean Coffee.
