What You Need to Make a Milky Way Latte

Make It Even Better:

Optional: If you want to add another little kick of chocolate, you can use chocolate milk instead of regular milk.  Or you can mix a little hot chocolate in with your coffee to give it extra sweetness.  This recipe is sweet enough for me, so I don’t need that, but do what tastes good to you.

Directions to Make A Mocha Milky Way

  1. Start by adding some of the caramel sauce into a coffee mug, then pour the coffee over the caramel sauce.
  2. Stir thoroughly until sauce is mixed well with your coffee (try using a french press for delicious coffee).
  3. Add in the steamed milk and continue stirring.
  4. Add a dollop of whipped cream to the top.  Drizzle a bit of caramel syrup over the whipped topping to garnish. Add a chunk of Milky Way chocolate bar to the top, or crumble it up and dust the pieces over the top to go even further with your garnish.

Note: If you’re too impatient to steam your milk, just put the milk in a glass mason jar that has a lid and put it in the microwave (without the lid) for 1 minute without the lid.  Remove from microwave and add lid, shake for 1 minute to get some froth.  If you have a french press, you can froth the coffee easily.  Check out the video in this post to show you how.

This is one of my favorite latte simulations.

Put the chocolate bar inside the mug with a copy of the recipe.  Cut out the cellophane to the size needed to wrap the mason jar/mug, bottle of caramel syrup, can of whipped cream(if you’re adding it), card if that’s what you chose, and tie it all together with the ribbon.  If you chose to add a tag, add it to the ribbon before you curl or make a bow tie with the ribbon.
